Violist and violinist Jessica Pavone has been active on the New York scene for over a decade. She has had a long-standing duo with guitarist Mary Halvorson and has led her own bands, including Army of Strangers and the Pavones. In addition, Pavone has played a key role in the collaborative quartet, Thirteenth Assembly. She has also performed with Anthony Braxton, Jeremiah Cymerman, Matana Roberts, Aaron Siegel, Henry Threadgill, Matthew Welch, and others.

For her work as a composer, Pavone has received grants from the Aaron Copland Recording Fund, the American Music Center, The Kitchen, the Jerome Foundation, and Till by Turning. A product of the last of these, a piece titled “Quotidian” premiered at the Klangbad Festival in Germany.
