In an earlier post, Jazz Right Now attributed the band Denver General exclusively to trumpeter Kirk Knuffke which was a mistake. The band is the collaborative work of all three members: Kirk Knuffke, Jonathan Goldberger, and Jeff Davis. My apologies!
I have been looking for an opportunity to hear this band play live for quite some time because of how much fun these musicians, led by Brian Drye (trombone, piano, keyboards), sound like they have on record (check out their 2010 self-titled release on NCM East).
